Spotting chemicals are placed at the desired location to get the stucked pipe freely moved/ circulated due to penetrating between the wall cake and the metal.
Spotting chemicals are being widely used during drilling, workover and intervention operations as an when there is frequent problem of pipe sticking/chocking in downhole.
It also improves lubricity, reduces torque, reduces differential sticking of the pipe to wall cake.
These are formulated with the base fluid and various other additives that can be incorporated into the active mud system with no adverse effects after the pipe is freed and/or circulation resumes.
